  • Privatization of the entire water system is not an option

    "The last time international financial institutions said there was a water crisis in Asia, governments and private interests immediately took the opportunity to privatize water services," said Makabayan senatorial bet Teddy Casiño.

    Makabayan senatorial bet Teddy Casiño today said that talks between Malacanang and the heirs of the Sultanate of Sulu should center not only on bringing the followers of the Sultanate back to safety but more importantly on how to work together to revive the Philippine claim in Sabah.

    "It is about time that the government and the heirs of the Sultanate of Sulu are talking. I truly hope that it will pave the way for a peaceful resolution of our claim to Sabah," said Casiño.

  • Casiño to Malaysia: Stop crackdown on Filipinos in Sabah

    Amid reports of massive killings and abuse of Filipinos in Sabah by Malaysian authorities Makabayan senatorial bet Teddy Casiño called on the Malaysian government to stop its crackdown on Filipinos in Sabah and they should respect and uphold international humanitarian law (IHL).

    "It is obvious that Malaysian authorities are targeting not just the forces of Kiram but civilians as well. The Malaysian government should respect Filipinos especially civilians in Sabah. We are civilized nations and we should act as such,” Casiño added.

  • Casiño slams Malaysia's refusal of ceasefire

    "Malaysia is supposed to be our partner is promoting peace in Mindanao but now they are slaughtering our people," said Makabayan senatorial bet Teddy Casiño today after Prime Minister Najib Razak refused to call for a ceasefire.

    Casiño said Malaysia's insistence of an unconditional surrender and their all-out war in Sabah shows their government's unreasonable and inhumane stand on the Sabah dispute.
