    Makabayang Koalisyon ng Mamamayan (Makabayan) announces today the adoption of Alan Peter Cayetano and Jamby Madrigal as its additional guest senatorial candidates.

    “We are endorsing Cayetano and Madrigal based on our unities with them on people's issues. Like our other six candidates, Cayetano and Madrigal champion several people’s issues and advocacies which we deem important to the life of our nation,” said Satur Ocampo, president of Makabayan coalition.

    "Rising star? More like unreachable star," said Makabayan senatorial candidate Teddy Casiño of Moody's Analytics calling the Philippines "Asia's Rising Star."

    "Maganda mang pakinggan, cannot be reached naman ng karaniwang tao. Without regular jobs and wage hikes, growth forecasts are meaningless," the progressive solon said.

    The report said the Philippines could grow between 6.5 to 7 percent this year and would outperform both emerging and advanced economies.

    Makabayan senatorial bet Teddy Casiño today blamed the Aquino administration's futile efforts at anti-poverty programs resulting in nothing but stagnant and widespread poverty in the country.

    The National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB) revealed on Tuesday that the poverty incidence in the country remain unchanged since 2006.

    "If we follow the logic of the President's tag line and the recent survey, it would mean, kung maraming mahirap, marami ding korap," Casiño said.

    Makabayan senatorial candidate Teddy Casiño assailed the latest Supreme Court ruling lifting the airtime limit on poll ads saying that the decision favors wealthy candidates or those backed up by the ruling elite.

    The SC virtually ruled for unli ads. “Ginawang parang unli text, unli call but the problem is its steep costs,” the three-term congressman said.
